| Zusammenfassung | The open-source low-field MRI community has rapidly advanced, with community-driven designs for gradient amplifiers, RF systems, and power monitoring freely available resulting in complete open-source MRI scanners being constructed globally by research institutions and companies.!? However, integrating such heterogeneous components into a safe, performant and coherent MRI system poses a major engineering challenge. Furthermore, new research technology is constantly being developed to advance system performance and improve imaging quality. To channel ongoing developments into a reproducible and scalable framework, we propose a modular open-source System Control Unit (SCU) that centralizes supervision, safety management, and inter-module communication. This work introduces the first open-source implementation of an SCU, focusing on its modular Eurocard-based hardware architecture and scalable backplane bus. Functional submodules for gradient amplifier interface card (GIC) and TR-Switch were implemented and applied to acquire first MRI images with the SCU. |
