| Zusammenfassung | A solar power photovoltaic (PV) plant generates sustainable and clean electricity with minimal environmental impact. However, the reliability and performance of the PV plant depends significantly on the quality of the components used. PV modules play a crucial role in terms of performance and reliability of the PV plants. This research discusses the methodology and analysis of a 2-year qualification test experience of PV modules at the BRIN PV Laboratory in Indonesia. The study tested and analyzed more than 14 types of PV module designs (a total of 168 pieces) from both local and imported industries. The results showed that approximately 43% of these PV modules failed to meet the qualification criteria, with local products contributed to the main failures (about 83.3%) compared to the imports. The identified failures were mainly related to wet leakage current (59%), followed by cell metallization burn (12%), glass breakage (8%), back sheet delamination (8%), and other (8%). Besides, some modules experienced degradation of maximum power by more than 5% at the end of the test. Careful selection of high-quality raw materials, ensuring quality assurance in the manufacturing process, and proper handling and transportation of PV modules are key factors in improving the quality of PV module products. |
