| Zusammenfassung | Due to their outstanding optical properties, crystal defects in diamond have emerged as unique candidates for a variety of applications, such as quantum metrology, quantum cryptography, and quantum computation. In this chapter, some interesting applications of diamond-based single-photon sources in metrology will be provided. In particular, this chapter will cover the following subjects: terminology for single-photon sources, typical experimental schemes, color centers as single-photon sources, the description of an experiment relevant in the field of single-photon metrology conducted by National Metrology Institutes and radiometry-related aspects. |
