| Zusammenfassung | Motivation: Scanning patients with neurostimulators is a serious safety concern. Goal(s): To work towards subject and situation specific risk assessments for implant carriers by demonstrating that crucial safety information can be read directly from a commercial deep brain stimulator device. Approach: Phantom experiments utilizing built-in impedance measurements of a commercial DBS system for detection and mitigation of RF-induced tissue heating around the DBS electrodes. Results: Measured impedance changes correlate well with the applied RF power. By feeding the impedance information into a pTx system the temperature rise near the DBS electrodes could be massively reduced. |
