| Zusammenfassung | The work described in the following was carried out at the “Laboratory for the Unit of Time” of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Braunschweig, Germany in 1965-1969. Design features of the cesium beam primary time and frequency standard CS1 have been published [1] and first results were presented in 1969 [2], the design features of CS1 will be discussed stressing only the points at which a different approach was chosen from what had been done before. Figure 1 shows the outer appearance of machine, Figure 2 a schematic cross section. |
