| Zusammenfassung | A precision measurement of the ground state hyperfine splitting frequency of sup.171YB+ ions is described in which buffer gas cooled ion clouds stored in a Paul trap and a reference oscillator locked to an active hydrogen maser are used. The final value is f0 = 12 642 812 118,471 Hz. The sum of systematic and statistical measurement uncertainties (1σ) is evaluated to be 9 mHz. The uncertainties are mainly caused by the determination of the frequency shifts resulting from the second-order Doppler effect, the quadratic Stark effect, and collisions with buffer gas atoms. |
