| Zusammenfassung | A theoretical model is summarized which describes the effect of Majorana transitions on the frequency of a cesium atomic clock. For the first time the phase correlation between successive excitations in inhomogeneous magnetic fields and in the microwave resonator are taken into account. It follows that π transitions with the selection rule ΔF=1, Δm=±1 together with Majorana transitions are of particular importance. The theory is supported by a number of experimental findings which are outlined and interpreted in terms of the predictions of the theory. |
