| Zusammenfassung | In September 1992 a two-way time transfer between the FTZ and the PTB via the German domestic satellite DFS-Kopernikus 2 has been started. The earth stations installed at the FTZ and the PTB are VSAT's (very small aperture terminals) of identical design, each with a 1,8 m dish, operating at Ku-band and equipped with MITREX modems. A short description of the main characteristics of the earth stations ia given. The results of the time scale comparisons UTC (FTZ) - UTC (PTB) by means of common-view GPS differ from those by two-way time transfer by 2 ns to 20 ns. The standard deviation of the one-second two-way measurements of UTC (FTZ) - UTC (PTB) was typically 300 ps. |
