| Zusammenfassung | Leak rates and gas flow rates are frequently determined by comparison with the known gas flows from leak artifacts. Several years of experience with He diffusion artifacts with sealed internal gas reservoirs show that this type of leak offers a high stability; measured changes of the leak rate remain within a few per cent over a time period of 6 years. The leak rate depends strongly on temperature, the dependence can be well described by a simple exponential function. The response to changes of the artifact temperature is fast, the new stationary flow rate is reached in less than half an hour. No delayed response originating from the time of gas permeation through the diffusion wall (about one day) is observed. |
