Summary Ultrasonic technologies are widely used and the exposure to airborne ultrasound at the workplace is constantly increasing. The lack of suitable measuring instruments for the determination of sound field parameters makes the investigation and assessment of this exposure even more difficult within the scope of occupational safety and health measures. Amobile system for the measurement of airborne ultrasound field parameters is therefore under development at PTB. Besides the design and implementation of analysis software, this development encompasses the testing of suitable hardware components with regard to the special requirements inherent to occupational safety and health. For the purpose of periodically checking the ultrasound level meter, an acoustical calibration procedure is going to be developed. |
