Zusammenfassung The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) will operate an undulator beamline for radiometric measurements at BESSY II. In a collaboration between PTB and BESSY three branches are being designed, one for experiments using direct undulator radiation, another one equipped with a normal incidence monochromator (NIM), and a third one with a grazing incidence monochromator. Design and performance data for the latter are presented below. The design goals are slighly different from other undulator beamlines at BESSY II. The main requirements are high spectral purity at the monochromatized radiation (contributions from stray light and higher orders from the monochromator ( 0,5 %) and high radiant power [1]. The grazing incidence monochromator shold be designed to use a long period undulator (U180) as well as a short period type (U49) alternatively to cover an energy range from about 20 eV to almost 200 eV. The design of our choice is a SX700 type [2] of plane grating monochromator (PGM), but, working with parallel light on the grating. [1] G. Ulm and B. Wende, Rev. Sci. Instrum., 66 (1995) 2244. [2] H.
