Zusammenfassung To obtain accurate values for the spectral radiance factor β, one has to take all effects into account which can influence the result of a measurement. One important quantity which is often neglected is the polarization state of the incident and reflected radiation. Different reflectivity for s- and polarized radiation and a polarization-dependent detector efficiency can have an impact on β and have to be correctly accounted for. We studied the polarization properties of diffuse reflection standards at different wavelengths and for different in-plane geometries. Depending on these parameters, the influence of polarization can cover a wide range, even for such a basic class of artefacts as matte reflection standards.
