The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt stipulates the filling conditions of pressure vessels within the scope of the "Druckbehälterverordnung". The thermal state at the maximum temperature which can occur during transport and storage, is crucial for the determination of the maximum permissible mass of the gas to be filled and the pressure. Since this state is either in the single phase region or in the two phase region, a standardized definition of the filling conditions for all gases is impossible. The filling conditions are therefore stipulated with regard to the critical point of each gas and a classification into three groups is made. The limits are at the critical temperatures of tk = -10°C und tk = 70°C.
