| Zusammenfassung | Current deficiencies of sound power metrology may be improved by applying the concept of traceability. This approach was investigated within a European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP) project. For the traceability chain, an aerodynamic reference sound source (RSS) was used as transfer standard and the substitution method was applied where the device under test is substituted by the transfer standard. The advantages of sound intensity concerning field measurements were taken into consideration and this quantity was chosen for the implementation of the substitution method. Three realistic sources of various frequency content were selected. The influence of the enveloping surface was studied in a hemianechoic room for both hemispherical and box shaped surfaces, while the sound power was determined along with the uncertainties related to the surface shape. Additionally, the influence of the surrounding environment was investigated. Apart from a hemianechoic room, five more spaces of varying absorption were used. The sound power and the corresponding uncertainty were determined. All calculations were performed in narrow frequency bands and in one-third octave bands. |
