| Zusammenfassung | Sound power is the fundamental quantity to describe the total amount of sound emitted by a source. The contribution reports on a European research project that aims to establish traceability for the unit Watt in airborne sound. A major part of the project is the dissemination of the unit, which relies on the use of aerodynamic reference sound sources as transfer standards. Measurements concerning the influence of ambient pressure, atmospheric temperature and rotational speed on the radiated sound power are presented. An equation that relates the in situ sound power level to that under calibration conditions is proposed, accompanied by the related uncertainties. A special scanning apparatus was developed by which directivity and near field measurements were performed. This setup and the corresponding results are also presented. |
