| Zusammenfassung | OLEDs are on the verge of revolutionizing the lighting market as extremely thin area light sources. As such there are many new challenges posed on the way various lighting applications. Two of these are addressed here. First, the definition of homogeneity for an OLED light source is evaluated based on a perception study. The standard display definitions for homogeneity are not sufficient to capture the actual visual perception and thus new homogeneity formulas are evaluated. Second, the lifetime of large area OLEDs is predicted based on small area test devices aged under accelerated conditions. Influence of temperature and current on the aging behaviour of OLEDs is analyzed focusing on the effect of homogeneity and self-heating for increasingly large OLEDs. |
