Zusammenfassung	We report an absolute frequency measurement of the E-line of CH₄ at 88 THz interrogated by a Zeeman-tuned 3.39 μm He–Ne laser using a phase-coherent frequency measurement chain linking to a Cs-clock. We find a value of ν_E=88 373 149 028 553±200 Hz increasing the accuracy of the optical frequency of this reference substantially over previous measurements.
