| Zusammenfassung | The requirements of explosion protected equipment and protective systems have been specified for approx. 20 years by the Directive 94/9/EC, also referred to as the ATEX Directive. The ATEX Directive establishes the basic safety and health requirements for the design and construction of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and the required conformity assessment procedures. The basic idea behind the ATEX Directive is that of the "New Approach", which regulates free trade within the European Union with the main objective of eliminating trade barriers. The "New Approach" principles have been implemented over the years for various products. This has led, however, to the introduction of different language and process regulations, some of which were adjusted to the products, resulting in inconsistencies during the drawing-up process of the directive. |
