| Zusammenfassung | An overview about the recent progress in fabrication and performance of SQUID magnetometers fabricated from single layer and multilayer thin films of the high-Tc superconductor YBa2Cu3O7-x is given. A number of different high-Tc magnetometers have now sensitivities which are adequate for various applications, including geophysics and magnetocardiography. The lowest magnetic field noise at 77 K reported so far was obtained for a flip-chip magnetometer in which a flux transformer with a 16-turn input coil and a 80 mm2 pickup loop is coupled to a dc SQUID. The various magnetometer approaches are compared including issues like reproducibility of junction and multilayer technology, sensitivity for a given device size and ways for further improvements. |
