Zusammenfassung Indoor and outdoor measurements of solar cells can yield significant differences in the short-circuit current and hence in the efficiency. In general, the measurement conditions for indoor measurements are reproducible and well defined. For outdoor measurements, this is not the case. For calibrations, the standard test conditions (STC) according to IEC 60904 have to be complied with. These parameters do not represent the conditions in the field. Consequently, calibration values give a good qualitative overview for comparing solar cells, but there may be major differences in the case of other conditions. We performed indoor high-precision primary calibrations with our DSR (Differential Spectral Responsivity) facility and outdoor measurements with our new outdoor facility. Here we show for different types of solar cells the comparison between the short-circuit current obtained with the DSR method and the outdoor facility. The outdoor setup measures the short-circuit current directly together with the temperature of the solar cells, the irradiance and the cosine-weighted solar spectrum from 220 nm to 1600 nm. We investigated the factors that influence outdoor measurements with both setups. Different correction procedures for the short-circuit current were evaluated. The aim of this work is to identify the critical factors which have a major impact on outdoor calibrations compared to indoor calibrations. Here, we show the results for three c-Si solar cells and for one filtered solar cell.
