| Zusammenfassung | In case of high-frequency AC voltage repetitive streamer discharges at atmospheric pressure can ignite combustible mixtures. Rotational and vibrational temperatures were measured using optical emission spectroscopy with varying voltage amplitudes and number of voltage cycles. The vibrational temperatures are always significantly higher than the rotational temperatures, which confirms the description of streamer discharges as a nonequilibrium plasma. The numerical simulation of the ignition processes using detailed kinetics shows that not only thermal heating has to be considered. At lower temperatures the electron impact reactions leading to dissociation and electronically exited species are of particular importance concerning the formation of radicals. This is illustrated by reaction flow analysis. |
