| Zusammenfassung | To characterize a structure borne sound source with the two stage method, the sound power on the plate hast to be known as exactly as possible. Assuming diffuse sound fields on the plates, the sound power can be calculated from the mean velocity and the loss factor. The preferred way to determine the loss factor is the measurement of the structure borne reverberation time. In this study, the total loss factor was determined by comparing the injected power at the contact point between plate and source and the structure borne sound power on the plate. Thereby, a calibration of the reception plate has been conducted. The mean velocity was measured with a 3D-Laser-Doppler-vibrometer. The specific examination treats effects at the edges of the plate structure. The measurements were compared with room acoustic phenomena. Especially Waterhouse and Vorländer correction terms, well know from room acoustics, were considered. The different reception plates are made of wood with different thicknesses and from gypsum. The two stage method assumes a perpendicular force. But how does the sound power on the plate change if more than the normal force component appears? An investigation for forces acting at different angles to the reception plate is presented. |
