Zusammenfassung In 2000 the IAEA published the Code of Practice (CoP) entitled Absorbed Dose Determination in External Beam Radiotherapy: An International Code of Practice for Dosimetry Based on Standards of Absorbed Dose to Water (IAEA Technical Reports Series No. 398) which recommends procedures to determine absorbed dose to water from measurements made with an ionization chambers. This CoP is addressed both to standards laboratories, especially Secondary Standards Dosimetry Laboratories (SSDLs), and to hospitals. To provide practical guidance to SSDLs on the calibrations and dissemination of calibration coefficients to hospitals in accordance with TRS 398, two coordinated research projects (CRPs) were established by the IAEA. The publication is a compilation of the results and findings of these CRPs and is addressed to medical physicists at SSDLs and hospitals who seek guidance in the implementation of TRS 398 for radiotherapy dosimetry.
