Zusammenfassung The ISO/IEC17025 standard requires the statement of measurement uncertainty when issuing calibration results and to take uncertainty into account when quantitatively testing the conformance of measuring instruments with given specifications. The measurement uncertainty is to be evaluated in accordance with the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM). The GUM requires the modelling of the measurement as a basis for propagation of probability density distributions or, in case of (almost) linear systems, for Gaussian propagation of the standard uncertainty contributions. This paper presents a practical and highly versatile concept for the modelling of calibrations and the evaluation of the uncertainty associated with a calibration result. Furthermore, a GUM-consistent approach to take the above uncertainty into account when deciding conformance is given, along with the estimated impact of the decision method on the uncertainty associated with measurement results obtained by means of conformity tested instruments when they are being used.
