| Zusammenfassung | The uncertainty of temperature measurement depends crucially on the specifications of the radiation thermometer used. The specifications should be best determined for a radiation thermometer to be used as a high-accuracy transfer-standard for calibration purposes. Therefore the Linearpyrometer LP3, a further development of the well known LP2, being used in numerous calibration laboratories world wide has been tested at IKE and PTB with respect to spectral characteristics, long term stability, noise equivalent temperature difference, size-of-source and distance effects, and linearity of the measurement signal. Beside the determination of specifications of radiation thermometers also their definition is an important task which should be both harmonised world wide as far as possible. As a first step the specialist committee of the German VDI/VDE-Society for Metrology and Automation Technology established the guidelines: "Specification of radiation thermometers". A brief review of this publication is also given here. |
