| Zusammenfassung | External thermal insulation composite systems (etics) can improve or worsen the sound reduction of the basic walls. In this paper some simple models are presented which allow to estimate some of the effects influencing the sound reduction index for direct and flanking transmission. A special problem is to characterise the acoustic performance of the basic wall and the thermal insulation lining separately. A report is given about the current European standardisation efforts (CEN TC 126/WG1, adhocgroup 5) to define a laboratory measuring method for the sound reduction index improvement of linings. The specific frequency response of "etics" with a pronounced dip at low frequencies yields special problems to find a single number rating procedure which correlates well with the subjective impression. The use of the spectrum adaption terms C and Ctr is discussed. |
