| Zusammenfassung | We apply for the first time two-photon polarization spectroscopy to study the distribution of atomic ground state density in a hydrogen plasma far off thermodynamic equilibrium generated in a hollow cathode discharge. No measurable Stark broadening could be observed, although the radiation required at 243 nm is provided by an advanced pulsed UV laser spectrometer which is providing a spectral bandwidth of less than 300 MHz, i.e. sufficiently narrow to resolve the hyperfine structure of the 1S-2S hydrogen transition. |
