| Zusammenfassung | Subsidiary to the efforts of the BIPM working group, the paper outlines a rigorous, independent revision of error calculs, the results of which are formed into a proposed new standard for the assignment of measurement uncertainties. Considering the propagation of errors in its simplest case, i.e. within a given function φ(x,y), the essentials of the new model are as follows: In regard to - random errors, it is proposed always to associate a two-dimensional compound density with the variables x and y, so that it becomes possible to open the "tool-box" of applied statistics for the object of error calculus, and in regard to - unknown systematic errors to treat them unrandomized in accordance with the "orthodox party", which in fact implies worst case estimations. The new formalisms are based on a modular concept and remain transparent even if the propagation of errors includes a sequence of consecutive steps. |
