| Zusammenfassung | This essay describes the work of the three WELMEC working groups 2 (Directive Implementation 90/384/EEC, Non-automatic Weighing Instruments), 7 (Software) and 8 (Measuring Instruments Directive, MID) concerning software. The WELMEC guide 2.3 was the first harmonized European document with requirements on software of measuring instruments. Based on the experiences with this guide that are reported in the essay and on the draft of the MID, working group 7 developed another guide 7.1 "Software" that can be applied to all kinds of measuring instruments and all kinds of application. The requirements of this guide are explained in the essay and examples for technical solutions are given. |
