| Zusammenfassung | The mean gas amplification factor M in mixtures of argon with propane and DME was studied at pressures less or equal 50 kPa. The deviation from the linear dependence of gas gain as a function of high voltage (in a semi-log plot) were studied and compared with those observed earlier in argon-isobutane mixtures. In all three kinds of mixtures, the magnitude of the gas gain where the deviation starts depends on the admixture partial pressure. The energy resolution at 5,9 keV was measured in pure gases and in the argon-based mixtures as a function of gas gain. The best resolution was obtained at low gas gains between about 100 and 200. At these gas gains, mixtures at lower partial pressure of the admixture showed the best resolution. At higher gas gains, the energy resolution depends strongly on the admixture partial pressure. |
