Zusammenfassung Motion sensors, e.g. accelerometers, when used in field conditions, are usually subjected to excitation in more than one degree of freedom. Often, only the motion component in a desired direction shall be measured. In other cases, a multicomponent measurement is required (i.e. in inertial navigation or modal analysis). For the latter applications, various kinds of multicomponent transducers are commercially available. In particular, transducers for position determination (navigation) and measuring instruments for rotational motion quantities are disturbed by high-frequency translational motion. A multicomponent calibration device is presented, allowing transducers and measuring instruments to be identified and calibrated for simultaneous excitation in up to four degrees of freedom.
