| Zusammenfassung | It is described the quality of calibrating chains in length measuring operations. The division of work in the manufacture of precision-engineered products, a practice which is expanding worldwide, calls for comparable measurements to permit the evaluation of process and product quality. Even the most efficient company, however, can only achieve standards of precision, at best, as are made possible by its ability to relate measuring equipment and gauges to national reference standards. National calibrating services make a significant contribution to ensuring the quality of calibrating chains. |
