| Zusammenfassung | The dosimetric mapping inside Biorack on the Shuttle Missions STS76, STS81 and STS84 is described. Due to the varity of particles and energies, no single detector system is capable of providing sufficient information on the radiation field which is composed of electromagnetic radiation and charged particles of solar and galactic origin, as well as of neutrons produced by interactions of the primary radiation with the material of the Shuttle. In the present investigation a passive dosimetry system is used in which single detector systems supplement each other in their recording characteristics and allow an adequate dosimetry of the radiation field. It consists of passive detector systems, such as TLDs (thermoluminescence detectors) and PNTDs (plastic nuclear track detectors) with and without converter foils and an active system, Dostel (DOSimetric TELescope), which provides a time-resolved and on-line information on dose and LET (linear energy transfer). |
