| Zusammenfassung | If an ionization chamber calibrated in terms of air kerma free in air is used to determine the absorbed dose to water within a water phantom, in addition to a conversion factor for the change of the quantity air kerma to absorbed dose to water also a chamber correction factor has to be applied which takes into account, that the calibration of the chamber was performed free in air, whereas the measurement is carried out in a water phantom. To get some knowledge about the behaviour of different types of ionization chambers, the relative chamber correction factors of seven cylindrical ionization chambers of different types are compared in relation to each other for the radiation qualities used in the PTB for the calibration of therapy level dosemeters in the medium-energy X-ray region between 100 kV and 300 kV generating potential. Deviations up to +1 % from the mean value of all chambers have been found as a result of this comparison. |
