Zusammenfassung Tibial nerve somatosensory evoked magnetic fields and electric potentials were measured simultaneously. In order to determine statistical dependencies between both data sets, a mutual Information was calculated. Although the signal-to-noise ratio for the electric data was higher than for the magnetic data, only the magnetic field allowed a meaningful reconstruction of the underlying compound action currents by using an equivalent current dipole model.
