| Zusammenfassung | The presentation starts with the brief overview of the main features of the SELMA concept and the time frame of the project. After this, it was point out to the operational concept and the security management system. The SELMA project (SEcure ELectronic MeAsurement data exchange) has been started in 2001 to find out new ways for data transfer of sensitive data objects subject to legal verification. A new security concept for measurement devices under legal verification has been developed which provides new opportunities for meters. The main ideas are the use of appropriate hash algorithms and advanced signatures combined with an adequate public key infrastructure (PKI). Legal metrology requires integrity and authenticity of data. The security technique of SELMA is implemented in all systems (e.g. data acquisition, data management) of other market participants that uses the meter values. The lecture ends with a summary of the advantages of the SELMA system. The SELMA technique fulfils the requirements of the market. These technique could be integrated in different other fields of application without major changes. |
