| Zusammenfassung | Head and torso simulators (dummy heads) of different types are widely used in the field of acoustic. Their application ranges from a binaural recording microphone with human-like directional characteristics to the measurement of sound sources close to the ear. From the point of view of metrology, the performance of dummy heads is mainly characterized by the following points: - their anthropometrical representation of the average human head an pinna, resulting in adequate directional characteristics - the simulation of the acoustic impedance of the human ear canal and eardrum - the simulation of the mechanical impedance of the pinna and the tissue surrounding the pinna - their ability to be properly calibrated and to be traced back to national references. |
