Zusammenfassung In the third Round Robin on Room Acoustical Computer Simulation the music recording studio of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig served as simulation object. This first part of the report presents measurement results for the room acoustical parameters according to ISO 3382 which will serve as a basis in the evaluation of the computer simulations to be discussed in the subsequent second part. The report also describes absorption coefficient measurements on a special wooden structure used both as low frequency absorber and as diffusor. Above-average scatters in the measurements of the lateral fraction LF/LFC revealed asymmetries of the directional characteristics of the figure-of-eight microphones used. Strong local deviations of individual parameters in the 125 Hz octave can definitely be attributed to spatial fluctuations of sound pressure which in this octave band show a strong influence on all parameters due to the small volume of the room of 400 m³. A standing wave between ceiling and floor, which could not be discovered by the standard measurements, leads to clearly perceptible resonance effects and a local increase in the decay time as against the spatial mean value from 0.85 s to 1.45 s.
